A small desk reset: keep what you use, move what you don't. I start by taking everything off the desk except the monitor. That makes it easier to see which things belong here and which have slowly arrived from other rooms. The notebook I use every morning stays. The pile of old envelopes goes into a separate tray to sort after the reset. Next I wipe the empty surface and put the keyboard and mouse back where my hands naturally reach. I am not buying a new setup for this video. The point is to make the desk I already have easier to use. The cables are the part I usually avoid. I unplug only the devices I can safely disconnect, trace each cable to its device, and group the spare lengths behind the monitor. Anything I need to unplug often stays within reach. Before moving on, I check that the devices I use still work. Then I give the loose objects a home. Pens go into the cup, headphones onto the hook, and the charging cable into the shallow drawer. I keep one notebook open beside the keyboard instead of stacking several beside the screen. The spare notebooks go on the shelf. There is still a lamp, a mug, and a plant on the desk. A clear surface does not have to be an empty one. I leave enough room to write without moving the keyboard and enough space for the mug that it is not balanced beside the laptop. The final check is simple: sit down and do the first task of the day. If I have to move something to begin, I find it another spot. That is more useful to me than making the desk look perfect for a photo. The Reel shows the before, the cable tidy, and the finished desk. Save it for the next time your workspace needs a reset.
